Café Retailer Award

This award will recognise the work being done by the café retailers to develop either the high street or in-store market.

What We Look For 

The Café Retailer Award is open to businesses with 10 outlets or more selling sandwiches and food to go products. Entries will be judged on the standard of facilities, shopping experience, customer care, presentation, product quality, sales success, marketing, product innovation and NPD.  

Judges will also consider market data sourced from Kantar, QuMind, Lumina Intelligence and FutureFoodservice. 

The award may be divided into two sub-categories:  

  • In-store 
  • High Street 

All Café Retailers with a Food Hygiene Rating of 5 are considered for this award,however entries are encouraged and will be treated in strict confidence and only seen by the judging panel.

The award qualifying period is 1 March 2025 to 28 February 2026.

How to Enter 

Entrants should provide a written submission, no more than two sides of A4 and early state what they have been doing over the last 12 months including new initiatives, marketing campaigns, promotions (with visuals) etc. The judges would also like to see financial data included to support the entry (which will be strictly confidential and for the judges only).
