Vitarosa Taranto 

Vitarosa works full time in a certification body and is based in the UK and is trained and qualified in ISO 9001, FSSC, BRCGS Food, BRCGS Start!, and various retail standards.

She holds a Master’s degree in Science and Food Technology from the Catholic University, where she studied biochemistry, microbiology, food chemical analysis, nutrition, food processing, technology, and sensory analysis. She also completed an Advanced Food Safety and HACCP course and became a Lead Auditor after earning a Master’s in Quality and Environmental System Management.

Following nine years working in Italy as a Food Safety Consultant and Lead Auditor in partnership with certification bodies, she transitioned to the UK meat industry. In this technical role, she specialized in ready-to-eat, ready-to-heat, and prepared meat products.

She then spent three years at STS Certification as a Lead Auditor, focusing on audits of NHS suppliers with an emphasis on minimizing the risk of Listeria monocytogenes in ready-to-eat meals.
